Music and heritage in harmony
Taking the Monastery of Alcobaça and the Monastery of Cós as its starting point, the Cistermúsica programme expands to other latitudes, connecting Cistercian monasteries and territories with links to the Cistercian Order.
Monasteries such as Arouca, Odivelas and Almoster, among many others, are part of the Cistercian Route — a musical programming network that promotes the appreciation, dissemination and fruition of the Cistercian heritage. Through concerts and shows, this project brings local communities closer to their monuments, reinforcing a sense of belonging and highlighting the heritage and spiritual importance of these places.
By creating opportunities for the development of audiences and encouraging contact with classical music, the Rota de Cister asserts itself as a transformative project that intertwines art and spirituality in a unique cultural experience.
