D. Quixote – Sounds of Change
FREE ENTRANCE
Circus, theatre and orchestra come together to give a new interpretation to Strauss' evocative symphonic poem (1897), with a new vision of Quixote that overlaps stories, characters, sounds, melodies, dexterity and movement. The big concert is about to begin, but the stage inspector responsible for making sure everything is ready is uneasy. A group of strange quixotic beings take over the stage and drag someone from the audience, who turns out to be Quixote. An adventure begins that is pure illusion and fantasy, where windmills are arches, Quixotes multiply, music becomes acrobatics, reality is distorted and nothing is as it seems. Quixote's spirit is very much alive and he even manages to seduce an unlikely Sancho to accompany him on his journey.
