Tributo a Piazzolla

FREE ENTRANCE

Mário Marques and Gonçalo Pescada make each concert an idiomatic encounter of two instruments that merge, suggesting a different way to listen. The meeting of skills in a musical heterogeneity (more than conglomerate of musical genres), characterizes this duo, in an interpretative journey, which extrapolates the music as a set of musical ideas fixed in score in an attempt to elevate the role of the musician to that of an active and even fundamental element in the musical process. The process describes the moment that begins in the composition, the creative gesture, until the moment of auditive fruition. This project emerges as a true tribute to the masters Astor Piazzolla and Richard Galliano for their unforgettable contribution to the History of Universal Music. The mixture of New Tango with the New Musette, where the approach to the rhythmic fundamentals of jazz phrasing and improvisation, appear as innovative elements, but at the same time, also of musical writing faithful to the original ideas of the composers.
