Cantigas de Maio
FREE ENTRANCE
The Cantigas de Maio project emerged as an almost natural consequence of Bernardo Moreira's more than 30 years of work in music.
With his beginnings marked by the language of jazz, the universe in which he still moves today, he soon embarked on a dialogue with other musical genres, with other composers and performers, as witnessed by the two albums released with his sextet and in the company of singer Paula Oliveira, Ao Paredes Confesso and Lisboa que Adormece, respectively.
Cantigas de Maio revisits this path, paying homage to the great musical authors who marked a turning point in our country's social, political and cultural history. Authors who, among themselves, created musical webs of sharing, taking on José Afonso's reference, but contributing, with their identity, to a "brand" in Portuguese music: José Afonso, Fausto Bordalo Dias, Sérgio Godinho or José Mário Branco.
