Banda Sinfónica de Alcobaça
Portuguese Pride
As part of the programme of the Cistermúsica Festival, where women's music has a privileged place, it is with great pleasure that the Banda Sinfónica de Alcobaça (BSA) presents a programme that highlights Ana Telles Béreau, a pianist of excellence from our country, who will perform works by the composer Carlos Caires, who is also a national reference.
Also in this part of the programme, the BSA will perform a work by Ida Gotkovsky, a French composer and pianist, from the vast range of her compositions for symphonic band.
In the year commemorating the centenary of the birth of Joly Braga Santos, the BSA could not fail to honour this great Portuguese composer by presenting the fourth movement of his Symphony n.º 4, dedicated to the Portuguese Musical Youth, its epilogue being the famous Hino à Juventude (Hymn to Youth).
The repertoire also includes a work inspired by our country, by the French composer Jacques Veyrier, dedicated to the renowned conductor Jean-Sébastien Béreau.
With this programme, the BSA praises and celebrates Portuguese composition and artistic mastery.
