It celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2023 and, throughout this decade, has given concerts in various churches inside and outside the municipality of Alcobaça and in other venues in the region.
Due to its quality and repertoire, since 2019 it has been part of the main program of the Cistermúsica - Alcobaça Music Festival, performing in various venues and with diverse programs.
programs.
This program features a piece by Mendelssohn among works by contemporary composers, such as the American Andrea Ramsey, the Brazilian Ernani Aguiar or the Norwegian Ola Gjeilo, whose work Sunrise Mass sets the tone for this
concert.
Sunrise Mass has four movements and each movement contributes to a larger narrative that ranges from contemplation and creation (The Spheres), through awakening and celebration (Sunrise), to the complexity of community life (The City) and, finally, introspection and spiritual fulfillment (Identity).
