The Alcobaça Monastery is one of the most well preserved medieval architectonic complex in Europe and UNESCO’s World Heritage Site since 1989.

It is the stage of the most part of the Cistermúsica shows: the central nave is the privileged space for sacred music, as well as the orchestras and major productions that take place in the monastery fence, an open-air remarkable frame.

Spectacles occur also in other unique cenários, like the Chapter House, the Refectory, the Dormitory, the Monks' Room, the emblematic Sacristy and also in the D. Dinis and Lodging Cloisters. All these places offer intimate settings for music and dance.

Some of these places are only accessible to the public during the festival, presenting exclusive moments that combine with the versatility of an all audiences program.
