The beautiful venue of the Fence of the Monastery of Alcobaça closed the festival with a masterpiece of symphonic music that continues to fascinate and move audiences all over the world: Dmitri Shostakovich's 10th Symphony. Nuno Coelho, one of Portugal's most international and inspiring conductors today, led the Alto Minho Youth Orchestra, a formation praised not only for its musical excellence, but also for its ability to unite young musicians of different nationalities and cultures.
