Cistermúsica Season

In recent years, Cistermúsica has consolidated itself as a musical season that offers artistic proposals throughout the year, with the Alcobaça Music Festival in the summer as its highlight.

The Cistermúsica season includes:
· Cistermúsica Sacra – a programme dedicated to sacred music and religious heritage, with vocal training and concerts during the Easter period;
· The Alcobaça Music Festival – launched in 1992, it is a unique celebration of music year after year, not just classical music, but with a diverse programme that crosses genres, eras and artistic styles;
· Cistermúsica Fronteiras – a programme of artistic dialogues and contemporary music, which takes place in the last quarter of the year.

In addition to these series, the programme extends to other territories through itinerancies such as:
· Cistermúsica Rota de Cister – a network that unites the Cistercian monasteries through music;
· Cistermúsica Redes – a series of performances in various locations across Portugal.

Cistermúsica takes place all year round, fostering the connection between music, heritage and the community.
