The Chapel of the Holy Spirit in Maiorga is a construction with very simple Manueline planimetry and volumetry, it reopened to the community after a period closed for restoration work.
The historic building for some time worked as a space for exhibitions, but until 1755 worked as a chapel, and then hosted the Misericórdia, and later the elementary school, becoming eventually, until a few years, home of the Maiorguense Philharmonic.
Since 2004, the Chapel of the Holy Spirit was being used temporarily as a center for exhibitions, having the restoration work definitely solved the condition problems of this secular building.
